Data and software engineer with hands-on experience building ML and
AI projects.
About
At Adeptmind I build and maintain scrapers that collect product and
stock data from retailer websites, in Python, TypeScript and Go.
Lately that has meant fixing stale stock data, cutting down noisy
alerts, making scrapers more reliable, and clearing security issues
ahead of our SOC 2 audit.
I studied statistics at the University of Waterloo and have built ML
and AI projects on the side. I use AI tools when I code, and I
review every change before I push it.
Experience
Data Engineer
Adeptmind – Present
Raised message-queue (RabbitMQ) throughput from about 0.2 to
at least 10-20 messages a second by switching to push-based
delivery with message expiry, so stock data stays fresh.
Cleared 255 open dependency vulnerability alerts (111
high-severity) across 6 repositories, then added weekly
checks, Trivy image scanning that blocks releases with
fixable critical issues, and secure storage for hardcoded
secrets, as part of SOC 2 work.
Cut monitoring alerts from 100+ to an average of 3 firing a
day for a team OKR, by fixing faulty alert queries and
tuning thresholds.
Built and maintained scrapers that collect data from mall
and retailer websites, taking each from setup through
testing to production and fixing them when sites change.
Built reusable retailer-onboarding components, and GitHub
Actions automation to run, retry and cancel data pipelines
(Prefect) safely.

Alt text helper
Suggests alt text for an image with an open model that runs in the
browser, so the image never leaves your device. Built in a day at
a hackathon. Small models still miss detail, so the suggestions
are a starting point to edit.
